好天に恵まれた４日、小名浜港の親水空間「アクアマリンパーク」では、寒風にもめげず、大空に放たれた多くのシャボン玉を多くの子どもたちが追い回していた。
青空広がる海沿いで、泉の自称『しゃぼんだまおじさん』（５８）が大小さまざまなシャボン玉を作り、大空を彩っていた。福岡県のしゃぼんだま師から取り寄せたという、魔法のシャボン玉液と５種８０本の道具を使用。膨らませたシャボン玉は風に乗り、道行く人の目を楽しませた。
孫を喜ばせるために先駆者から一式を買い、１年前に開始した。魔法のシャボン玉液５００ｍｌ入りペットボトル１本分が３００円で遊べ、売り上げは子ども食堂の活動に寄付している。
披露している時間は土、日曜日の午前９時から日没まで。強風などの悪天候の場合は中止する。

Soap Bubble Uncle Delights Children at Onahama Port Ahead of Midwinter
January 5th marks Shokan (Lesser Cold), one of the twenty-four solar terms. It is the day of Kan-no-iri, the official beginning of the coldest season, which is said to be the most frigid time of the year.
On January 4th, blessed with fine weather, children were seen chasing countless soap bubbles floating through the air at Aquamarine Park, a waterfront area in Onahama Port. Despite the biting cold wind, the park was filled with energy.
A 58-year-old man from Izumi, who calls himself the “Soap Bubble Uncle,” colored the blue seaside sky with bubbles of various shapes and sizes. He uses a “magic bubble solution” and a set of 80 tools in five different varieties, all sourced from a soap bubble master in Fukuoka Prefecture. The shimmering bubbles drifted on the breeze, delighting passersby.
He began this activity a year ago after purchasing a full set of equipment to entertain his grandson. Visitors can join the fun for 300 yen per 500ml bottle of the magic solution. All proceeds are donated to Kodomo Shokudo (community children’s cafeterias).
The performances take place on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:00 a.m. until sunset. However, they are canceled in the event of strong winds or poor weather.
